A Varsari Society print of Raphael's 1510 pen and brown ink drawing Studies for the Disputa.

In this preliminary study for his Disputafresco in the Vatican, Raphael Sanzio rendered several of the figures with extraordinary clarity and economy. The central philosopher turning intently away from the viewer, the ghostly hooded figure on the right, and the men in animated discussion behind all appear in detail.

On heavy paper (unframed) but in good condition, this 29 x 41cm print is from the Varsari Society 2nd Series Part V no.6 published in 1924.

The Vasari Society or Vasari Society for the Reproduction of Drawings by Old Masters was a British institution that operated between 1905 and 1956, but was most active in the interwar years.
