Antique campaign chest

A large antique campaign chest inscribed with the name Major J. B Jameson of the Indian Medical Service. The chest is of heavy wooden construction, with brass hinges and iron carry handles and is long nd low. This will work beautifully in your boot room and is easily strong enough to be sat upon. The lid has a sliver missing and a crack, both of which add to its appeal. Great patina! Late 19th century.

Major John Bland Jameson 

Major Jameson served in a number of campaigns with distinction. The chest came from family connections and included in the pictures are three of his armorial and service records. Nice provenance to have and a copy is included with the chest.
