Dieter Kunzemann slipware platter

A rather pleasant and great condition oval slipware platter from Dieter Kunzemann, roughly around 1967. These rarely appear for sale and this one is a beauty. It is glazed in brown on the front, and carries the yellowy crew Wheat res decor. Unglazed toon the back. Stamped on the back. There are no cracks or damage on this item, just a little gentle age appropriate wear.

Dieter Kunzemann

Dieter Kunzemann was born near Leipzig, East Germany in 1928. He trained and worked with his father-in-law, country potter Chris Harries, at Coldstone Pottery from 1953-1967. In 1967 he started Evenlode Pottery in Gloucestershire. He is known for producing domestic and decorative slipware, mostly with wheat ear decoration and using green, yellow and black glazes.Kunzemann died in 2011.
